Snow Drift
The snow drifts were so high I could not get across the street. They were sculpted by the blizzard's winds.

Snow Drift on Jay Street
Snow drifts in New York after the blizzard. I had never seen drifts like this in Manhattan.

Nandini Berries in Duane Park
Everything was covered in white but because of the storm's high winds some things were blown clean, like these brilliant red berries.

English Sparrow in the Snow
the English sparrow is an introduced species in New York, but I have always felt love for them. They stick it out here in the freezing cold and boiling summer. This little guy was looking for a meal after a blizzard.

Staple Street Hospital Bridge
This is the bridge between the ambulance building and the first New York Hospital. The hospital is on the right and is now residential dwellings as is the ambulance building. The street lures photographers, but this is my own corner. Harrison is in the background.

North East Corner of Church and Worth Streets
The day after the day after and New York was back to business. I walked up to 23rd street. The utter bleakness of the afternoon was interesting for me. Something we see all the time and that I wanted to record.

Winter's Early Sunset and the Warm Glow from Indside
Astor Place, New York City, there was a photographer shooting strobes in the building and I managed to catch it.

Grace Church
Grace Church is at 802 Broadway, up from 10th Street. When I first moved back to NYC from London I bought an etching press from Mr. Charles Brand, whose shop was in a basement on 10th Street. It was a piece of Old New York, now gone, but the Church lives on.

Tree on Stuyvesant Street
New York has it's fair share of tiny hidden streets, like this one called Stuyvesant.

The Hurly Burly
I love the city at twilight when it's not black yet but all the lights come on, especially when everything is wet from melting snow. This is Soho and Broadway, NYC. The building at the end is the Woolworth building with it's copper turret. There is great romance in this city.
