Scale Throated Hermit Hummingbird is a common hummingbird in the south eastern part of Brazil and is not considered endangered. Note the beautiful "S" curve his bill, body and tail create, just perfect, like a ballerina.
Brazilian Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Female, she has to stay in one spot to get her nectar. I know how to do that in water by "treading" it is a marvel that she can whip those wings back forth fast enough to not move forward or back.
Brazilian Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Female drinking nectar. She has figured out that this very strange flower does not have the nectar inside, like most real flowers, rather the nectar is dripping off it's outside. We drenched it in sugar water to attract the hummers. I love when you can see those teeny tiny feet curled up under their bellies.
