Great blue heron poised to strike.
The limpkin eats apple snails exclusively. it can expertly open them with its with bent and twisted bill tip.
Mate fidelity in osprey is high. Attachment to the nest site is strong and may contribute to the pair bonding. The male appeared to be very busy, either foraging or bringing in more nest material.
