Birds of St. Petersburg Gallery
St. Petersburg, Florida is a beautiful place to visit with a camera and a love of birds. I was there in April and came home with many exciting images of wading birds from the beaches and wetlands, as well as a few predators living in a nature reserve. The new, fast cameras and my intense excitement lead me to take too many pictures...but can there ever be too many pictures? Not for me, but perhaps for you. Take a peek and only stay as long as you like.

At sunset "everyone" came back to the beach for a dip and a meal. The White Ibis allowed us to be very close. I especially love the Ibis' blue eyes, red skin and expression.

Left Face
I thought all the birds were facing the sun, but in fact they are facing the wind. This helps with communication, take off and landing and keeps their feather from being ruffled.
