Morning feeding time for the Great Egrets and their fellows. The birds were out in the pond. This was my first try at fluttering birds. I wish I understood the behavior, but love the majestic white birds in silhouette.
We had the pleasure of being allowed on the compound of a resident family. They had several ponies wandering around at will. I was advised to bring a few apples. The ponies ate them quickly and then approached the camera as if it had more!
July in Elsie Reford's Garden displays a panoply of beautifully colored azaleas. Grand -Métis is normally too cool for this plant, but these are protected by being in a dell. Still they grow in a more compact form than they would normally.
