A few days on a lovely "boat hotel" and each dawn going out in launches to look for the great cat. They tend to lay low in the heat of the day, sometimes we waited 8 hours to see one move. They rest on the banks, close to the Caiman they target for dinner. The twigs and branches, dappled light and spotted coat make the jaguar very difficult to see, but to hunt he had to come right out onto the bank. We watched one flying leap onto a caiman, but that reptile lived to swim another day.
